
Endemic: though the population size of the fur seal is the same as that of the sea lion, they are not as easily found because they like rocky steep areas as opposed to basking in the sun like the sea lion. You can distinguish the fur seal from the sea lion by the fur seals shorter snout, smaller body and larger sadder eyes. Despite the fact that in the 1800s thousands of fur seals were taken close to extinction, it seems their population has grown considerably. You can see these animals in Rabida, James Bay and in Genovesa Island.
