Endemic: there are 4 mockingbird species and 7 subspecies. The other species are: Charles, Hood and Chatham mockingbirds. These birds are quiet friendly and occasionally seem like they beg like dogs at your feet looking for something to eat. The mockingbird in the photo is the Galapagos Mockingbird. All species have the same coloring, but differ in size and other features. This bird eats anything from insects, eggs, to ticks off of land iguana's back.
