This handsome Booby used to
be called Masked Booby because they thought it was a subspecies of the
Masked Booby, now a separate species, the Nazca Booby is one of three
Boobies found in the Galapagos. This is the larger of the three
species. Unlike the Blue footed booby, the Naska prefers to dive
offshore. These Boobies can be seen nesting in Genovesa and Espanola.
Like the Blue footed Booby, the Naska Booby lays more than one egg and
normally only one survives most likely because of sibling murder. You can
see these beautiful birds in Genovesa, Espanola and San Cristobal.
