Galapagos Brown Pelican

This airplane-like bird is beautiful in flight but has interesting take-offs and landings. The brown pelican is seen throughout the Galapagos in flight, relaxing in mangroves and fishing inshore. The adults, as seen in this photo, have a white or creamy head and brown neck while the juveniles have a paler brown head.
